Love Never Fails — Brandon Heath

Just some photos from this weekend’s camping trip at Wigg Meadows. A great trip and a much needed break from school.

Michael made himself some eating utensils. They looked rather interesting.

iPhone automatic wifi login

If you’ve got an iPhone or iPod and are constantly having to sign into a wireless network, like at school or work, you’ll really appreciate this little app. There’s a free version you can test out, but it’s definitely worth $1.99 to get the full version.

It works great a Southern too. I’ve had it almost as long I’ve had my iPod.

PS. Southern’s coming out with its own iPhone app very soon!

Philip Davis is designing his way through the book of Psalms!

I love what Philip Davis is doing here, he’s doing an awesome job at designing through the book of Psalms! He’s doing one a day for an entire year — 365 in total! A blog that’s definitely worth following. I love the clean style he uses. Great job, keep it up Philip!

The Essence of Studying

When I first saw this method of Bible study several years ago, I was blown away because of it’s simplicity and power. I couldn’t believe that by asking these simple yet deep questions, you could get such powerful insights to any passage of Scripture.

What is a passage? Usually it’s a chapter (sometimes longer or shorter), but it could be a parable or story, or it could be a famous speech or sermon.

A few good passages to start with:

  • Matthew 8:23-27
  • Matthew 13:11-23 (also compare with Luke 8:5-15, Mark 4:3-20)
  • Matthew 13:24-30
  • Matthew 25:1-13
  • Matthew 28:16-20
  • Luke 10:25-37
  • Luke 15:11-32
  • Acts 6:9-15
  • Acts 9:1-30

Attached is a one page pdf with the questions and some space for you to write in the answers. Check it out. Grab a friend and sit down for a few minutes.

All you need to make HTML5 and CSS3 backwards compatible.

CSS3 & HTML5

  • IE-CSS3 allows Internet Explorer to identify CSS3 pseudo selectors and render any style rules defined with them.
  • CurvyCorners is designed to fill a gap in modern browser support for rounded corners on block elements while we wait for CSS3 to be finalized and supported by all browsers. Currently Firefox, Safari and Chrome have limited support for the proposed CSS3 border-radius selector.
  • Modernizr is a small and simple JavaScript library that helps you take advantage of emerging web technologies (CSS3, HTML 5) while still maintaining a fine level of control over older browsers that may not yet support these new technologies.
  • HTML5shiv uses javascript to create elements in HTML5 (such as section, article, video, etc.) This makes HTML5 backwards compatible. It’s a public repository for the latest HTML5 JavaScript shiv so IE can recognize HTML5 elements.
  • Showif is another way to conditionally target specific browsers that view your site.
